9:00-10:45- Handwriting/ Spelling/Literacy

  • Handwriting- Forming the letter p, g, j- making sure to descend below the line

  • Spelling- spelling quiz- let your child read the word to memorise- spell aloud and then write onto paper (similar to word tins).

Couple, shutting, circus, invisible, allowed, rough, special

  • Literacy- Explanation texts- Find an item in your home and research how it works.

  • A continuation from yesterday’s learning with a focus on using ‘casual connectives.’

    This means using words that show cause and effect e.g.- the hoover nozzle sucks dirt from the floor because……….therefore the air is sucked inward as a result ….

  • Other examples of casual connectives are- because, so, this means that, as a result, therefore, this causes, this results in, if, then, consequently.

  • Try writing some sentences with a cause and effect. Then input into your learning from yesterday.

10:45-11:10- Exercise & Snack

11:10-12:15- Maths

  • Log onto Times Table Rockstars and practise timestables.

  • Adding 3 digit numbers using column addition. Remember to carry over- “Challenge the adult”- can your child create a question linked to yesterday’s learning. Putting numbers in the correct places (Hundreds, Tens and Units). Practise your first question by copying a question from the worksheet used yesterday and change the numbers around. Then try one independently. (Adult) can you try to answer? Can your child explain how to answer?

12:15- 1:00- Lunch

1:00-3:00- RE/ Art

  • RE- Who is our neighbour? Research the story of Pharisee and the tax collector. Who is acting in ways we don’t expect? Create a spider diagram to think about how people can be good on the inside as well as looking good on the outside.

  • Art- Linking to RE- is there anyone nearby that might appreciate one of Badger’s fantastic drawings of a beautiful world? Sketch something you find beautiful and share with someone who might appreciate it.

  • Reading- ‘free read’ a non-fiction text- any book with facts/information.
  • Spelling- write down words with the prefix super-
  • An example of this would be superhero, supermarket. Write the words and practise handwriting.
  • Literacy- Explanation texts- Find an item in your home and research how it works.
  • E.g. a hoover, microwave, kettle- begin to write down information and organise using sub-headings. The sub-headings could be a question that you need to answer (What makes a hoover suck air?)

11:10-12:15- Maths

  • Please find the work sheet on the blog- write calculations into books to save printing.

12:15- 1:00- Lunch

1:00-3:00- Computing/ PE

  • Computing-Log on to purple mash- ‘2Type’ activities have been set for you. Different lessons to teach the location of keys on a keyboard.
  • PE- take part in Joe Wicks (The Body Coach) workouts online.
