Physical Education

Physical Education is taught in all year groups at Trinity CE VA First school. Reception use objectives from the early learning goals to plan and deliver their lessons. Years 1 - 4 use objectives from The National Curriculum 2014, which aim to develop the children's ability to achieve in a wide range of physical activities. Please see the Physical Education policy for more details.

At Trinity teachers and external coaches teach Physical Education allowing children to have two sessions of Physical Education each week. In addition to the timetabled Physical Education sessions, we provide opportunities for children to take part in other sporting festivals and competitions including team and individual events throughout the school year.

Throughout the year we also arrange after school clubs such as gymnastics, football, multi-sports and netball.

Gymnastics competition

On Monday 28th November, the three first schools, Hillside, Verwood First and Trinity, took part in a gymnastics competition. Each school had two teams of five gymnasts who each performed a tumble in front of the judges. The scores were added together. The scores were very close, with only a couple of marks between first and sixth place! The winning team was Hillside, with Trinity coming second. It was a great afternoon and thank you to all the mums and dads who came to watch.

Year 4's Netball tournament - 20th October

by Holly and Oliver

On Tuesday 20th October, some people from Year 4 went to Emmanuel to do a netball competition. We got into two separate teams and the same with Hillside and Verwood First. When we got there both of our teams had an Emmanuel sports coach to lead us around the netball courts. We put on our bibs to show what position we played on the court. Trinity A team and Trinity B team played against each other. It was so fun and also funny. At the end of the tournament Hillside B team won, then in second place was Trinity A team, then in third place was Trinity B team!!
